Art and science represent two powerful and dynamic human ways of investigating and understanding the natural and social world. Both are creative processes involving acts of observation, interpretation, meaning-making, and the communication of new insights.

There are many common practices in between the two fields. Exploration and understanding of one, could have direct influence on the other, as communicated in the expressive aesthetics developed for this project, showing influences, collaboration and equity through use of typographic treatment and visual play.

Broadening Youth Participation in STEM Learning is a collaborative project between Exploratorium, Science Gallery and University of Washington and was funded by the Science Learning + initiative supported by National Science Foundation in the US, and the UK based Wellcome Trust and the Economic and Social Research Council.
