The Graduate Exhibition of the TU Dublin School of Creative Arts is the highlight of the academic year for the school’s students and staff, and features work from Fine Art, Furniture, Product, Interior, Visual Merchandising, Visual Communication Design and Creative and Cultural Industries.
The 2022 exhibition was particularly special as it was the first opportunity to invite the public to the school’s brand new East Quad Arts building, while also being the first in-person show in two years. The aim of the grad show identity was to advertise the TU Dublin School of Creative Arts Graduate Exhibition to both the public and the students within the university.
Due to the unusual college experience the 2022 graduates had, emerging from a degree almost half completed online, we wanted to incorporate this into the identity design for the exhibition. The creation of pixelated letter forms emerging from the broken down type develops a system of shape building which reflects the interconnectivity and integration of the individual courses. This concept further embodies a unique college experience that transitioned between the physical and digital realm. The fluorescent green portrays the vibrancy of the exhibition and the dynamic growth of the school and the students within it.
The identity was displayed across both print and digital media in the form of printed publications, invitations, posters, a website, a social media campaign, and a wayfinding system.
