'The Sandwich Stall' is a well-established food stall in the English Market in Cork, who sell sandwiches and lunches using high quality artisan products sourced from other stalls at the market. Although they have been trading relatively successfully by word of mouth, the client felt that they could develop the business by increasing their profile. The brief was to design a cohesive identity in keeping with the nature of the products.
As well as highlighting the stall, the identity was designed to carry the brand beyond the market onto the street to create awareness of the brand. The design of the logo reflects the abundance of ingredients, while the 'rough' handmade feel conveys the 'made-to-order' nature of the products. A single colour was chosen to reflect the simplicity of the ingredients. The energetic marks 'sandwiching' the name suggest action, as in freshly made, and give the identity a contemporary feel. The brand will be applied to a wide range of items including coffee cups, salad boxes, wrapping paper, paper and canvas shopping bags, aprons, signage and stationery items, as well as online.
