An iconic venue from Dublin’s 1970’s disco scene, the Mont Clare Hotel closed for refurbishment in late 2018 – marking the final phase in the O’Callaghan Collection’s extensive programme of investment.
Located in the fashionable Merrion Square district, The Mont is a new gathering space for a new generation of guest - redesigned for Gen Y to plug in, switch off, recharge and refuel. Catering to the digital native traveler, the interiors pay attention to craft and materiality – marrying club comfort with discerning style and an irreverent nod to it’s 70’s disco heritage.
The visual identity captures the hotels evolution from Old School to New Cool, a concept that underpinned the creation of the bespoke typographic logotype. Featuring Gastromond, a classically inspired fat face serif, and the geometric san-serif Gotham, the identity is an energetic mix of character and modernity.
The distinctive typeface and surrounding visual language injects personality and wit throughout the hotels new social spaces, revamped accommodation and guest communications.
