The Good Guide is an initiative designed to equip students in creative arts, design, media, and technology with the knowledge and tools to embrace ethical and inclusive practices in their work. It promotes sustainability, equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), and the use of technology for positive impact, with the straightforward objective of minimizing harm in creative pursuits and actively contributing to positive change.

Understanding concepts like sustainability, EDI, and "tech for good" can be daunting. The Good Guide addresses this challenge by providing an introductory handbook that offers clear explanations of these complex topics and presents basic principles to aid understanding.

To balance the seriousness of these important issues, The Good Guide incorporates engaging and whimsical illustrations. These visuals depict a world that could exist if we all adhered to the practices outlined in the guide. By bringing a sense of lightness and joy, the illustrations entice students to engage positively with these principles. Rather than presenting sustainability, EDI, and "tech for good" as dry, academic concepts, the playful visuals create an inviting atmosphere, suggesting that ethical and inclusive practices are not only responsible but also creatively fulfilling. This approach makes the guide less intimidating and more approachable, encouraging students to explore the content with optimism and a sense of possibility. The illustrations serve as a visual representation of the positive impact these principles can have, inspiring students to envision a brighter future and motivating them to play a role in creating it.
