Located in Dublin’s inner city, the original bar has stood on this same corner of Mill Street and Blackpitts since the 1920s, among the linen-makers and distillers from which the name was derived and what the area was known for.
To complement the refurbishment, a new identity system was formed with a customised wordmark and T emblem, designed from the original lettering and graphical elements which draw reference from the history and heritage of the area. All touchpoints have been created in collaboration with different local craftspeople, signage writers and illustrators, sticking to traditional methods and materials where possible in keeping with the aesthetic of the original bar and its roots. The identity, including specially commissioned photography, is an adaptable one which is used across all touchpoints including interiors and digital platforms.
