At Brand Hatch, we thrive on transforming meaningful stories into impactful designs. When Teeling Whiskey approached us to create the branding and packaging for a special collaboration, a series of Single Malts inspired by historic moments in Notre Dame Football’s legacy, we saw an opportunity to honour the heritage of both brands while crafting something unique.
The Phoenix Legends Series, named after Teeling’s iconic phoenix symbol of resilience, commemorates defining moments in Notre Dame Football’s storied history. The first release celebrates the centennial of the 1924 Consensus National Championship, when the legendary Four Horsemen backfield led Notre Dame to an undefeated season, setting a gold standard for excellence.
For this inaugural edition, our brief was clear: design packaging that reflects both the gravitas of the whiskey and the significance of this historic event. The 24-Year-Old Single Malt Rivesaltes Cask is presented in a premium decanter adorned with vintage American sports typography and Notre Dame’s iconic ND logo, embossed in gold. A bespoke box with gold foil details, satin ribbon, and a certificate of authenticity featuring custom illustrations enhances the luxurious presentation.
To unify the project, we developed messaging that embodies the collaboration: “When Legends Meet, History is Made.” This limited release of 1,000 bottles marks the beginning of the Phoenix Legends Series, celebrating key moments in Notre Dame’s history while reflecting Teeling’s dedication to craftsmanship and innovation.
