Stretch is a Dublin-based bi-monthly DIY club night created by Limerick-born DJ and producer, Lúnasa. It is committed to giving underrepresented talent the set they deserve, born out of the unquantifiable experience of collective effervescence on the dance floor through the unique sense of journey created by all night long sets.
The visual identity for Stretch is playful, distinct and grounded in tactility. The logo is inspired by dancing bodies; featuring hand-drawn letterforms with hands and feet, touching each other and contorting to one another's shapes. This typography with personality; or characters with character, if you will, are further emphasised in the GIF format animating them dancing and stretching.
The posters for each Stretch event feature an illustration of the selected DJ spotlighted in monochrome, with their name plastered across the top in a unique handmade typeface. The DJ often chooses which portrait of themselves they’d like to be illustrated; picking one that they believe best encapsulates their personality. The process from there immortalises the character in a bold and graphic style, with the attention to detail hinting at the essence of the night in question.
