The architecture department of SDCC launched an annual event under the Engage Architecture program, Beyond Eye Level.
A grid system was derived from extruding a surface 45 degrees from itself resulting in a grid with 3 axes: horizontal, vertical and diagonal. The grid was used for all materials creating areas and points for the placement of images and text. The programme was punctuated with dye cut holes at intersecting points, which formed concentric circles when folded. The identity was developed using the same grid, with the extruded sides of the letterforms broken into horizontal and vertical planes, creating an identity that could morph and change in every iteration.
