The National Gallery of Ireland required a fully integrated design scheme to support the ‘Master of Light’ exhibition of 50 works by Spanish impressionist Joaquín Sorolla. The first artist of this caliber to exhibit in Ireland.
‘Light’ was central to the approach, both as a focus for design and as the key attraction of the works. The mission was to speak as clearly to casual visitors and passersby, as to those visiting the gallery specifically for the exhibition.
The exhibition design had to be distinct enough to honour its subject matter while being versatile enough to carry across the full gamut of media applications including environmental, information panels, digital display, print, merchandise and online. The National Gallery of London and the Museo Sorolla, with whom the exhibition was jointly held, were acknowledged.
