SMBC Annual Report 2019

SMBC Aviation Capital is a leading global aircraft leasing company whose principal activity is leasing and trading aircraft, with a clear focus on young commercial jet aircraft of the types most popular with customers. Every minute of every day, an aircraft managed by SMBC Aviation Capital takes off or lands somewhere in the world. Boyle Design Group have been fortunate to work with this dynamic company since 2012.

Each year we collaborate with SMBC Aviation Capital to design and produce their annual report which reflects their leading status and the dynamic nature of their operations. This year, with a commitment to reducing their carbon footprint, we took a novel approach to the report.

We produced a limited run of the printed annual report into two distinct sections, a smaller glossy directors report and a larger format financial report on uncoated stock. Both documents used recycled stock which were carbon offset by the charity The World Land Trust (WLT). To compliment the printed report we also developed a microsite for the directors report with the option to download both the full report and the financial section.

For this report, the client wanted to focus on the success of their aircraft trading team. We commissioned and art directed a photo shoot for the company, capturing the aircraft trading team during the typical stages of an aircraft deal, what they do and how they interact with the other teams in the company.
