Shaping Ireland, at the National Gallery of Ireland, presented the work of celebrated Irish artists over 250 years in a study of the landscape, it’s people, and the relationship between the two. Conceptual in approach, the exhibition examined how visual artists have depicted human activity and impact on the landscape throughout the centuries - including works by Paul Henry, Jack B. Yeats, Dorothy Cross and Sean Scully

The topical nature of the show provided inspiration for the graphic approach, which aims to provoke thought and discussion through a series of statements and questions. The concept of ‘shaping a national conversation’ is expressed throughout.

Themes of interference, disruption and impact are reflected in the title graphic, where human hand has shaped the letter forms; and throughout the graphic system - from the intrusion of statements over images, which would normally be protected from such interventions to the broadsheet-style outreach programme.

The identity exhibition was meticulously applied throughout signage & promotion, exhibition materials, digital marketing and an education & outreach programme.
