The creative campaign’s materials — photography, videography, graphic design and outdoor signage — would define the aesthetic of the festival, encompassing the festival’s brochure, out of home advertising and posters, dressing Fringe’s building on Meeting House Square in a reflective vinyl wrap, re-skinning their website, stylising social media content, and producing a video campaign to bring the creative to life.
We worked with photographer Hazel Coonagh and videographer Iggy Laugalis to create and capture imagery at a number of locations around Dublin city centre, using two performers from Fringe, Isabella Oberländer and Eavan Gaffney, as our stars.
We created and captured wild, experimental, refracted images in the moment using two large acrylic perspex mirrors, and combined this with deft digital editing in post to create a weird and warped Dublin for the artists to play in.
The text treatment and the design elements across all media echoed the refraction motif to create a thematic continuity across different aspects of the festival’s visual identity.
