Robert Bourke Architects (RBA) is an award-winning Dublin practice that works on a diverse range of projects including homes, community buildings, and places for education and work. In 2020 they celebrated ten years in business, and it prompted them to produce a map, marking the work they have carried out in Dublin and beyond. It was an opportunity for them to reflect on their work and evaluate the impact on the people and places they have engaged with over the last ten years.
Originally, RBA had planned to create the map and an accompanying A5 book of projects themselves. When they brought us on board to refresh their visual identity, we also took on the publication design. We proposed increasing the book's size and incorporating the map into a gatefold cover. The publication contains a range of project types, each one beautifully shot by photographer Ste Murray. The photography is supplemented by architectural drawings, visualisations and map illustration by James Forbes.
The publication is saddle-stitched, with an 8-panel gatefold cover 725mm x 297mm, printed 4/4 on 250gsm uncoated board. The interior pages, 185mm x 297mm, are printed 4/4 on 120gsm recycled paper.
