This project was part of the ‘Purple Light Up’ initiative celebrating those with disabilities in the workplace.
This year, the world-wide event went live on December 3rd and to mark this day, Eli Lilly Kinsale, asked our team to develop a 3 minute ‘short-film’ that would engage their co-workers and communicate the importance of compassion towards one another, whilst highlighting the diverse range of both visible and invisible, mental and physical disabilities.
The illustrated short was designed for colour accessibility and simplified into 2D forms to maintain a light-hearted approach to the animation. In addition to this, we introduced a divisive ‘emotional cloud’ which attaches to the character and accompanies it throughout the animation, acting as a visual interpreter for the emotional status of the being. The animation shows how interactions evolve into feelings and can either fester into knots of anxiety or ‘pop’ open feelings of happiness.
The launch of the video received a really fantastic reception. Originally intended for the clients internal offices, the company later decided to publish the 3 minute clip onto their global platform and across social media channels.
