Precinct is a London-based micro-press, initiated to publish books on music, art, language and various other allied fields. Developing out of an earlier publishing outlet, For Further Information, Precinct probes alternative channels of distribution through printing on demand. Drawing parallel with the era of early twentieth-century European critical writing around musical modernism, which often took the form of modestly-produced pamphlets, Precinct’s books are likewise economic in their design and production, favouring the restrictive production options offered by print-on-demand vendors.
