Pangur Ban is a translation from the old Irish by Seamus Heaney. Working closely with calligrapher Tim O'Neill who designed the distinctive calligraphic lettering, this book became the fine press version of that text. The design and craft production steered clear of the aesthetics of the original vellum manuscript taking it's influence instead from the format of the printed book.
The edition size was limited to 30 copies. The text is letterpress printed from magnesium plates onto 225gsm Zerkall mould made paper. The quarter binding is embellished with gold foil and a tipped on spine label, housed in a blind embossed cloth covered slipcase.
