Other Voices

Other Voices is a music and arts festival held each December in the remote village of Dingle on the Atlantic coast of Ireland. The journey to the remote festival during the winter; a sense of getting away, the excitement of seeing new things, hearing new music, gaining new ideas and experiences are all part of the magic of the festival. 

The style of design was inspired by Irish tradition and craft which fit well with the values of the festival. This was achieved by using letterpress typography, hand drawn illustrations and natural colours. A series of icons were created for each strand of the festival. The icons were of things that would be found in, or represented, the local area. Each strand was also given a different colour hierarchy to distinguish them. However when shown together it becomes clear they all blend to form one clear identity.
