Oedipus Rex

Design work for a concert by Chamber Choir Ireland, the country’s flagship choral ensemble and national chamber choir.

Gabrieli's Oedipus Rex was first performed in 1585 for the opening of Palladio's Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. The illustration derives from the plan of that theatre, and reveals the fate of The King of Thebes, who blinds himself at the end of Sophocles’ masterpiece.
