We were asked by the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) to design and develop the 2017 Graduate Show identity, catalogue and exhibition signage.
NCAD is comprised of four schools. For the show catalogue, we created a solution that gave equal representation to these four schools. Each school has it’s own section, identified through distinctive covers, allowing the user to decide which school they put to the fore. The spiral bound book acts as a functional rotating index of all graduating students from a spectrum of practice. NCAD is the central axis point of the spiral, and all elements (schools, departments, courses, students) rotate around that axis. This rotary system invites the audience to engage with the catalogue in a playful and inquisitive manner. Four Schools, One Book.
Carrying the direct typography and vibrant colour palette of the catalogue through to the physical space, the exhibition signage emulated the energy of the NCAD 2017 Show using these bold colours at a large scale.
