Names – Website

Names is a jewellery line, conceived and created by hand in a Dublin city-centre studio. The sixteen-piece collection represents a mix of the skills and personalities of jewellers Clare Grennan and Laura Caffrey of Irish Design Shop.

We created a special collection site to launch Names and to showcase the first collection. As this is a very personal project, a labour of love, every piece in the collection is named after a woman in each of Clare and Laura’s families, from mothers to great grandmothers.

The site foregrounds the pieces as though they were floating in space, linking through to the online store with a series of intuitive and unusual interactions. On mobile the site uses the device’s gyroscope to sync movement to that of the handset, further emphasising the sensation of weightlessness.
