My Son My Son

My Son My Son is a play written by Veronica Dyas in 2018 and based on Berthold Brecht’s learning play, The Mother. It was staged in the Project Arts Centre, Axis Arts Centre in Ballymun and Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray.

For this Dublin play, set on Meath street in the Liberties, we made a range of posters using photographs of the main character in the market setting. These were taken by photographer Louis Haugh. We left the programme primarily typographic using the debased ‘discount’ typeface impact. Along with the posters and programme, we also created prop newspapers for use in the production.
