Museum Quarter ‘Social Distancing Stencils’

Museum Quarter contains the world-famous Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk, Van Gogh and Concertgebouw, as well as Amsterdam’s best luxury shopping street.

At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, we were asked to create environmental graphics to help reinforce social distancing measures.

Rather than use bland pictograms, we created a series of charming characters* to reflect the rich cultural heritage of Museum Quarter – and to put a smile on people’s faces.

The playful and ornate stencils with the polite message ‘Kindly Please’ soon became Instagrammable, as they sent positive vibes in these difficult times.
