The temporary exhibition display system at Malahide castle provides an opportunity to showcase specific themes, concepts and collections for a limited period of time. They can be set up within the existing exhibition or around the site, offering returning visitors new content to explore.
The design is inspired by Malahide Castle's architecture and interiors. The fluorescent orange edging is inspired by the custom orange paint found on the walls of the large drawing room, know as Malahide Orange, it was created for the Talbot family in the nineteenth century and was considered controversial in its day for its boldness. The fluorescent orange and minimal design contrasts with the ornate historical setting.
The diamond graphic is inspired by the rotating diamond window above the main entrance and is used as a framing device for images.
The timber is locally sourced and graphic panels are easily swapped to display new content.
