Issue01

Indigo & Cloth is a menswear store, graphic design studio and café based in Temple Bar. The Issue01 publication is an experimental in-house studio project. The impetus for the project was to rethink and redirect money spent on promoting the brand in and around Dublin. With Issue01, we sought to take matters into our own hands, as well as to offer insight into the goings on in the Essex Street building. Issue01 was how we chose to communicate with our peers, clients, friends and the public. The creation of the magazine afforded us an exciting opportunity to selectively curate fashion photography, industrial design, photojournalism and film into a small pocketable piece of print.

The main focus of Issue01 is the Dublin photo shoot featuring menswear from the Indigo & Cloth store, photographed by Sean Jackson and art directed by the studio. The magazine also includes think piece articles, written features on the work of our friends: Profiles.ie and Blackwolf, discussions on our working relationship with collaborators and clients: Teeling Whiskey, The Dean Hotel and Dyflin, and a beautiful photo journal by Dublin-based photographer Al Higgins, who worked on this project during his travels in the US in 2015.

The issue01 logo is a custom typeface which we added alternate lettering throughout the magazine. In total it's a 32pp softcover, with paper sections gum-bound into a gloss laminate cover. It was printed in Ireland by Plusprint. The magazine was available free from the Indigo & Cloth shop and online store and was widely distributed throughout the city.
