The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC) monitors, advocates and reports on human rights issues in Ireland, accounting directly to the Oireachtas. We developed a cohesive brand system to reposition IHREC as a digital-first entity. The resulting system is adaptable, distinct, and meets high accessibility standards.

In collaboration with IHREC’s communications team and InterAccess, an expert accessibility consultancy, we identified areas for improvement, focusing on accessibility and compliance. We made optical adjustments to the logo, developed an intuitive brand architecture highlighting key legal powers of the organisation, introduced a new accessible typeface available through Microsoft Word, defined a consistent motion identity, and overhauled the colour system to serve editorial needs.

The refreshed brand system now provides a solid foundation for delivering accessible content and maintaining high accessibility compliance as a publishing standard.
