Inish Beg meets Note Poster

Poster for Inish Beg meets Note, a once-off evening at Dublin's Note restaurant in which they open their kitchen to the cooking team from Inish Beg, West Cork.

Approach uses a fusion of type and mark markmaking to represent the coming together of two excellent kitchens. The elements are natural and chaotic, echoing the rhythm of combining ingredients for a dish or the marks left on a plate after a meal.

The type is a combination of the serif BB Modern by Colophon and naive handmade letterforms. The serif takes the role of Note, contemporary, understated and timeless, which the hand cut letters are more natural and unique, echoing the landscape of the Island of Inishbeg where the visiting team usually work.

The poster was commissioned by Ahmad Fakry on behalf of Note and was used both online and in A3 print.
