The Irish Defence and Security Association was formed with a goal to educate society about prevalent disinformation, among other threats, regarding Ireland’s defence status. We worked with the association to create a strong new brand identity that would appeal to the broad demographic that formed its target audience.
The logo consists of an Irish harp and a shield. We wanted to use these two traditional symbols in a contemporary way so we used a geometric approach and a fresh colour palette when designing the logo icon as well as pairing it with a clean, modern typeface that would lend itself to digital. The concentric lines in the logo were doubled up as a brand pattern, creating a conceptual guard over imagery of Ireland.
A key objective of the project was to communicate the transparency and credibility of the association while remaining trustworthy and instilling national pride.
