He could see behind himself T-Shirt

Collaboration with artist Isabel Nolan on two t-shirt designs, commissioned by Temple Bar Gallery + Studios to mark their 40th year supporting artists working in Dublin city.

With a brief that was to respond to Nolan's painting “He could see behind himself” St Columba (2022), patchwork diamonds and waveforms were picked out and repeated, and a split-fountain gradient based on the tonal range of the painting itself was used to print the designs. The figure of the St Columba appears over the heart on one shirt, and on the shoulder of the other – in reference to him seeing behind himself.

Printed in a limited run, the t-shirts were sold in a fundraising effort, to help Temple Bar Gallery + Studios continue to support and invest in visual artists.
