GradX is the highly anticipated annual graduate show at TU Dublin, a key moment in the academic calendar where students proudly showcase the culmination of their creative skills, innovation and diligent work. This year the event welcomed a broader range of courses, uniting the most creatively diverse group of students to date. In response, we developed an identity that celebrates the graduating students both as individuals and as an inspiring collective.
The visual identity incorporates the voices of graduating students through a dynamic typographic approach. Dispersed letterforms come together to form words and meaning, reflecting the varied perspectives and disciplines of this year’s graduates. These words were sourced from interviews and written statements, ensuring an authentic and resonant representation. Shades of yellow frame the design, injecting an inviting and positive energy while the atomised typography embodies the balance of unity and individuality in the students’ creative trajectories.
Extending across both print and digital media, key touchpoints include a website, social media campaign, digital and printed posters, invitations, course catalogues, spatial interventions and a wayfinding system. The identity seamlessly integrates into the university’s newly built environment, facilitating a cohesive interaction with the showcase from campaign encounter to event participation.
While each student has embarked on their own creative journey, together we form a powerful collective of innovators. This campaign is a testament to our individuality, shared experiences, and the lasting impact we make as a graduating class.
