GAA: People, Objects & Stories, a temporary exhibition at the National Museum of Ireland – Collins Barracks, offers a fresh perspective on the GAA’s influence through the lens of social history, design, popular culture, people and communities. The exhibition features a wide variety of objects dating from the 15th century to the present day.

The exhibition identity was inspired by the distinctive line work on GAA pitches, evident throughout the exhibition imagery, and the key artefacts from the collection. The colour palette was inspired by the pitches and skies found in the exhibition images and archive footage, and the pale cream referenced a prominent artefact from the collection, a commemorative porcelain plate designed by Oisín Kelly and manufactured by Belleek Pottery in 1976. Colour and shape played an integral role in the development of this exhibition identity and is evident in the final exhibition collateral. The supporting shapes were used as graphic elements to support and enhance the exhibition pieces, guiding visitors through and framing the information. The exhibition design feels celebratory, enticing visitors to attend the exhibition, beyond the typical museum goers, speaking to those who love the GAA.
