Since the 17th century, Ireland and the Caribbean have been connected through migration, trade and a mutual history of colonisation. The Entangled Islands exhibition explores Ireland’s role in the transatlantic world of enslavement and abolitionism, in colonial rule and anti-colonial agitation, and in contemporary expressions of hybrid identity.

The design uses contours and patterns associated with mapping to give a sense of entangled land forms. The colour palette is inspired by the Caribbean and contrasted with black.

The exhibition was launched in the stone-clad vaults of the chq building before being displayed in various Irish Embassies around the world.
