Conor and Amie, owners of Elliot’s Café and Bakery, approached us to formalise their visual identity as they prepared to open a second location on Arran Street East. Having consulted with them informally during the launch of their original Phibsboro location, this project provided an opportunity to build on their brand narrative. Named after their son, Elliot, the bakery’s identity centres on a playful wordmark derived from his handwriting as a small child.
We developed a minimal yet playful visual identity, extending the interior colour palette by Ahmad Fakhry with contemporary accents. A monospaced typeface paired with Elliot’s handwritten logo created a balance between nostalgia and modernity. Key brand applications included signage, printed matter, social media, and art direction. Signage involved large supergraphic treatments of the wordmark on the building’s exterior, complemented by hand-painted detailing, numbering, and messages by the talented Locked Letters. Tactile materials and production processes ensured the identity felt grounded, with darker exterior paintwork adding contrast and street presence.
