Electric (2015)

Electric is a 10,000 sq ft venue in the West of Ireland that was rejuvenated at the start of 2015. The aim was to approach nightlife differently by changing expectations and asking "Why can’t Ireland’s most interesting nightlife space be in Galway?". Electric create a new kind of nightclub by bringing together a rooftop streetfood restaurant, a cocktail bar and two club spaces alongside techno, drag and art shows. Central to the revamped architecture of the venue are steel window frames that inclose the dance floor and surrounding areas. Using these window frames as a grid, a distinct dynamic typeface was made that formed the basis of a flexible and recognisable identity for the venue. A custom treatment was given to reflect the context of each poster.
