We worked with DCU Student Support and Development on an identity system and suite of communications. Made up of 9 individual departments, they offer impartial support in all aspects of student life. They had two main challenges — they had to feel accessible to the students, and make them aware of the range of services that were available.
We developed the idea — a spectrum of support — to explain the different departments with one purpose, and the U& device to talk directly to students. To help internal and external understanding, we split their printed communications into three groups - simple colour documents introduced each service. We used illustrated objects for their helpful documents. And for communication with parents and industry we dropped the U& and presented a colourful crop of the U on a black background.
