Castle & Drury is a contemporary menswear store located in the heart of Dublin City Centre. Throughout November and December 2015, they hosted a pop up shop above their ground floor store for online art and interiors retailer - April and the Bear.
The brief for this project was to design seasonal window graphics to promote both businesses. Both brands had to communicate their individual message without clashing. Quite a challenge considering how different both branding languages are.
The starting point came from the existing Caste+Drury branding created by James Early (InputOut). A suite of icons referencing to local environment included 2 permanent vinyl graphics on the front glass which had to stay. Using this language, I created 4 different C+D snowflakes.
For April and the Bear, we opted for a street level sandwich board, store signage above the door and clever interior wayfinding.
The resulting installation resulted in both brands retaining their key attributes while enjoying a successful Christmas period.
