The University of Cambridge fosters ambition, innovation, and imagination. To support the next generation of researchers, innovators, and talented teams addressing global challenges, the university established Cambridge Enterprise. In 2023, we began a working with the team on a strategic review of the business structure. We developed a brand positioning and story, which expanded into a complete strategy, brand toolkit and guiding principles. These brand tools were implemented across the organisation and provided the fundamental direction for brand development.
Based on restructuring business services, we developed a new identity system. Although clearly linked to the university, it has the flexibility to present a contemporary and agile organisation within the structure of a university rich in heritage and with impressive innovation credentials. This allows the various teams to introduce the reorganisation and offer it to existing and potential new partners.
Updated communication tools emphasised past and current university innovation. We built a series of case studies and strategic presentations that provided an overview of a refreshed and restructured organisation. Alongside this, a long-term digital project was begun to redesign and develop the master website and smaller service websites.
