BYD, a global leader in electric mobility, launched in Ireland in the summer of 2023.
Faced with no pre-existing content beyond generic global assets, the task was to create continuous monthly content and support the launch of BYD's inaugural electric vehicles in Ireland. The challenge also involved breaking away from traditional car industry social media norms to bring fresh perspectives to the brand.
An approach was decided from early on: embrace the EV lifestyle from an Irish standpoint, steer clear of repetitive, solely vehicle-centric content. The goal was to resonate with the Irish audience through less formal, more relatable content.
A sustainable creative direction was established, starting with the BYD ATTO3 launch. Collaborating with photographers Peter Evers, Johnny Savage and videographer Alan Rogers, the team aimed to capture an authentically Irish atmosphere. Content featured human elements, incorporating small interactions, close-ups, and real-life props, while maintaining a premium aesthetic that conveyed trust and reliability.
