This project is a follow up to the 2019 book ‘1753’, which looked at the tragic numbers of homeless families in Ireland. This time a folding poster format is intended to make a bold and direct request to government. Taking inspiration from 20th century protest posters, the piece is letterpress printed from 72pt Gill Sans Bold (metal type). An Instagram post announced the availability of the piece and subsequently these letters were sent to 150+ people who had taken up the offer. Each letter was accompanied by an envelope addressed to the Minister for Housing, and for those inclined to make a visual statement in their community, a wheat paste recipe.
