As we are counting down to 2017 take a little time to look back at 2016 and think about what work you will submit to the 100 Archive. As ever you can submit work at any time and all projects that have made it onto the site in 2016 are automatically reviewed by our Archive Panel. But do make a note of the 2016 deadline — we will be accepting submissions up to 31.01.17.
Remember the aim of 100 Archive is to create an honest and wide reaching record that reflects the best work, across the island of Ireland and of Irish designers working abroad, in all fields of communication design. This is a rolling record of professional activities, from single-colour event flyers to innovative apps, cultural posters to architectural wayfinding, corporate identity to illustration, motion graphics to typeface design. Ours is a broad practice and we want to reflect this in the variety of projects included in the 2016 Archive.
Submission is simple and cost remains accessible, but its worth considering the pricing options — A single entry is €20 but a €100 annual subscription with unlimited submissions is the best value. We encourage regular project submissions during the year — this means work is profiled online prior to selection. Increasingly we are hearing about studios and individuals referencing their profile page to clients as a current record of their work which has been selected by practicing professionals and industry experts as representative of the best of Irish communications design. This is exactly what we had hoped would happen and is very encouraging.
Our existing Professional Panel, who conduct a review of all submitted projects and the Archive Panel who are responsible for selecting the 100 projects which form the yearly archive are in their second term and will be beginning the formal review throughout January and February next year.
So, review your work, update your subscriptions, and start uploading projects soon.
And finally — 100 Archive is a community based initiative that relies on your active participation, we would like to extend a big thank you from the entire team for your generous support, enthusiasm and continued participation.
