It's all happening here at 100 Archive. We have made some changes to our steering committee, saying goodbye to Aideen McCole and welcoming new members Sarah Fox, Anusia Grennell and Thomas Fayne, but we didn’t stop there, we have also recruited a new articles team.
The intention of the 100 Archive is not just to present contemporary design, but to discuss and contextualise it. We have brought together a team of contributing writers and editors, tasked with exploring design, within and beyond the discipline, and within and beyond Irish shores, through interviews, case studies, features and more. After a very successful National Heritage Week event in August, we have loads of content and different perspectives to share on the wider theme of Sustainability which we will start publishing soon.
We’re thrilled to have the talented Kevin Horan, Conor Foran and Michelle O’Connor join us as new contributors for the next couple of years. Their work will enhance the quality of our content and provide unique perspectives into design in Ireland and beyond. Welcome to our articles team, we are excited to have you on board.
Conor is a creative practitioner based in London working in the design, academic and disability spheres. With his partner Bart Rzeznik he runs a design practice called Take Courage. He is also the founder of Dysfluent, a multidisciplinary project centred around the embodied experience of stammering.
Kevin Horan: Kevin Horan is a UX researcher and designer at Wove. He is interested in sustainable, ethical design and humane technology.
Michelle O’Connor: Michelle is a copywriter and tone of voice creator, also known as Specky Scribbler. She's been playing with words for as long as she can remember, especially since getting her first pair of glasses. She loves working with visual creatives, and thrives when helping people find their words and their voice.
Our new articles team will join existing members,
Lara Hanlon: Lara is founder and director of Portion Collaborative, a design startup that is reimagining the future of food for us and the planet through creative disruption. Her curiosities lie in the intersection of design, business, sustainability, and humanities. Lara is also a member of the 100 Archive Steering Committee. Lara leads on commissioning and editing along with:
Kate Stuart: Kate is a cultural producer and arts facilitator working freelance with organisations within the private and public sector. She works to develop their projects from concept to production, acting as liaison between creatives, companies, and venues.
Brian Byrne: Brian is a Wexford-based designer and founder of Lands—a socially and environmentally focused practice that encompasses research, strategy and design. Brian is a frequent collaborator with the 100 Archive and is currently commissioning a series on design and sustainability.
Clare Lynch: Clare is an independent designer and creative director of Clare Lynch Design. She works directly with her own clients as well as with some of the country's top studios. Over the last 15 years, she has been working mainly within the arts and publishing and for a number of high profile organisations across both the public and private sectors. Her expertise range from editorial design and visual identity to web design and environmental graphics.
Rosanne Lancaster: Rosanne is a Wexford-based graphic designer and another graduate of IADT. With a keen interest in design history and theory, this is her second year leading on the 100 Archive’s ‘In With The New’ article series. She currently divides her time between freelancing and working in a small print studio.
In 2022, 100 Archive is proudly supported by The Heritage Council.
