OFFSET2018 Friday 23-Sunday 25 March Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2 Tickets here
We are delighted to contribute to this year's OFFSET conference with three panel discussions on the Yellow Stage looking at the foundations of our industry, how the 100 Archive frames contemporary design and life here in Ireland and what the future holds for young designers. Here are the details:
100 Archive: Foundation Friday 23 March, 6pm
The 100 Archive exists to present, record and discuss Irish graphic design past, present and future. Join Eamon Spelman, designer, lecturer at Limerick School of Art and Design and 100 Archive panellist in conversation with arts facilitator Jole Bortoli and Charlie O'Neill, Creative Director of Persuasion Republic. They will discuss their foundations as designers, the creation of their renowned studio Graphiconies in Dublin in the 1980s, their work across art, culture, politics and social issues and where life and career has led them since. Read the primer here.
100 Archive: Frame Saturday 24 March, 4.10pm
Each year the 100 Archive selects 100 Irish graphic design projects worthy of presenting and preserving. Join 100 Archive panellists Eamon Spelman, Lara Hanlon and Kasia Ozmin in conversation with Aideen McCole about what this year's selection shows us about culture, commerce, society and politics today, and what role design plays in shaping and framing contemporary Irish life.
100 Archive: Future Sunday 25 March, 4.10pm
Every year the 100 Archive selects and presents a broad range of graphic design from Irish designers in locations all over the world and at all stages of their careers. Join us for a discussion with Shauna Buckley of It's Okay, Eleonora Bigi and Luca Amoriello of Studio Nugno and Amy West of WeTransfer about transitioning from study to practice, setting up your own studio, choosing between small-scale, large-scale or freelance practice and more.
